A new machine for precision grinding of extra-large shafts and spindles put into production
September 20, 2025These days mark exactly 30 years since PPM d.o.o. began producing cutting tools on CNC tool grinding machines.
In the beginning, these were drills and milling cutters, and later all other types of tools followed, such as reamers, circular and rotary cutters, as well as various forms of multi-stage complex cutting tools.
From the very founding of PPM d.o.o. back in 1992, when the company operated as a small workshop with only five employees and three machines for manufacturing and sharpening cutting tools for metal and plastic processing—during economically unstable, wartime conditions—only a short time passed before the first CNC machine was introduced into the production and sharpening of cutting tools. This marked the beginning of a new era of productivity and competitiveness in the manufacturing, sharpening, and repair of cutting tools for a wide range of industrial applications.
Since then, more than ten additional machines of this type have been introduced into the production facility of PPM d.o.o., and over 1.2 million cutting tools have been manufactured or processed on them during this period. We are proud that our tools, milling cutters, and drills have been used to machine parts later installed in the products of many global brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW, Ford, Maybach, Fiat, Alstom, Tetrapak, and many other well-known companies that we are not permitted to mention.
